I RESOLUTION NO. R-117-16 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, 3 CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 2016, DECLARING THE RESULT AND 4 SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW. 5 WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of 6 Colton, California, on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, as required by law; and 7 8 WHEREAS, notice of the Election was duly given in the time, form and manner as 9 provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were 10 appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, 11 received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in the time, form and manner as 12 13 required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for holding of 14 elections in general law cities; and 15 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-41-16 adopted June 7, 2016 and Resolution 16 No. R74-16 adopted August 2, 2016, the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters 17 canvassed the returns of the elections and has certified the results to this City Council, the 18 results are received, attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A". 19 20 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, 21 CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS 22 23 FOLLOWS: 24 SECTION 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in the precincts except vote by 25 mail voter ballots and provisional ballots, was 10,222. 26 That the whole number of vote by mail voter ballots cast in the City was 11,020, 27 making a total of 21,243 ballots cast in the City. 28
