DRAFT MOBILITY ELEMENT <br />Freeways <br />Freeways are multi -lane, limited access, high-volume, high-speed roadways constructed <br />for regional and interregional vehicular travel. Access to these facilities is restricted to <br />interchange ramps at selected roadways. Freeways are under the jurisdiction of the <br />California Department of Transportation. Two freeways traverse Colton: Interstate 10 and <br />Interstate 215. <br />Major Arterials <br />Major Arterials are roadways designed to move large volumes of traffic, linking freeways <br />with local streets and providing access between cities and subregions. They carry high <br />traffic volumes and are designed for high speeds, and provide routes for regional transit. <br />Major Arterials may also serve as primary truck routes.
