R-113-15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED STREET NAME CHANGE FROM PHILLIP SMITH TO
PHILIP SMITH JR.
WHEREAS, the City of Colton is a municipal corporation duly organized and
existing pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California ("City"); and
WHEREAS, the City intends to support the City's goal to improve the City's traffic
safety and infrastructure; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Colton did make the following findings to justify the
proposed street name:
1. Public Safety: Approval of the street name change will not create conditions
materially detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare, and will have no
impacts on the public health, safety and welfare, as reviewed by the City's Public
Works Department, the Police Department, and the Fire Department.
2. Specific Plan: There are no specific plans affected by the street name change.
3. CEQA: The street name change has been determined to be exempt from the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in that the proposed street name
change will have no effect on the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 The Recitals preceding in this Resolution are true and correct and are
incorporated into this Resolution by reference.
