R-124-15 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />ESTABLISHING A SEWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PLAN (SSMP) AND <br />REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. R-39-09. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton (City) owns and operates more than 1 -mile of public <br />sewer lines; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 2, 2006, the State of California Water Resources Control Board <br />adopted Waste Discharge Order No. 2006-0003-DWQ, Statewide General Waste Discharge <br />Requirements (GWDR) for Sanitary Sewer Systems that applies to all public agencies that own <br />more than 1 -mile of sewer line; and <br />WHEREAS, the goal of the GWDR is to eliminate the occurrence of preventable <br />sanitary sewer overflows by requiring public agencies to develop and implement written <br />programs that improve the effectiveness and sustainability of existing sewer systems; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is required by the GWDR to review, revise and re -adopt a Sewer <br />System Management Plan (SSMP) every five years that identifies practices, procedures, and <br />goals that comply with the provisions of the GWDR. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Colton <br />does hereby adopt the attached, (Exhibit "A") updated Sewer System Management Plan. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1" day of December 2015. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA R.
