0 0 7 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. R-82-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TERMINATING THE EMPLOYMENT OF STEPHEN P. COMPTON, CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, the City of Colton employed Stephen P. Compton as City Manager pursuant to an employment agreement approved by the City Council on October 15, 2013, and executed by all parties on October 22, 2013; and WHEREAS, Section 9.2 of said Employment Agreement provides that the City Council may remove the City Manager from his employment in accordance with the provisions contained in Section 2.16.020 of the City of Colton Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, Section 2.16.020 of the Municipal Code provides for the removal of the City Manager "[fJor any reason whatsoever by Resolution adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the pleasure of all the members of the City Council that Stephen P. Compton be removed and terminated from the position of City Manager of the City of Colton effective immediately. SECTION 2. City Council chooses to remove and terminate Stephen P. Compton from his position of City Manager so that the City may pursue a different managerial direction. SECTION 3. In accordance with Section 9.6 of the Employment Agreement, City Manager shall be entitled to a severance payment equal to four (4) months of his current base salary upon his timely execution of a waiver and release agreement prepared by the City Attorney in a form substantially similar to that one set forth as Exhibit A to that Employment Agreement.
