R-52-14 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />ALLOCATING FIREWORKS LICENSES FOR CIVIC GROUPS AND <br />REPEALING RESOLUTION R-45-13. <br />WHEREAS, The City Council approved Resolution No. R-45-13 on June 18, 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. R-45-13, established an approved list of civic non-profit <br />organizations entitled to be issued a license to operate a fireworks booth and to sell fireworks <br />within the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, The civic group known as the Knights of Columbus, Council 4097 has <br />decided not to operate a fireworks booth this year; and <br />WHEREAS, The Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and Family Development has <br />submitted a written request regarding the operation of the vacated allocated booth; and <br />WHEREAS, An application was submitted by the Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and <br />Family Development in accordance with Chapter 6.32 of the Colton Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, The application was reviewed for compliance and approved in accordance <br />with Section 6.32.070 of the Colton Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, representatives from the remaining approved civic groups were polled and <br />asked to give their approval for having the Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and Family <br />Development operate their own fireworks booth beginning in 2014; and <br />WHEREAS, representatives from the remaining approved civic groups have signed a <br />letter stating their support and acknowledgement that the Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and <br />Family Development will operate their own fireworks booth beginning in 2014. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Resolution No. R-45-13 is repealed in its entirety. <br />
