R-52-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ALLOCATING FIREWORKS LICENSES FOR CIVIC GROUPS AND REPEALING RESOLUTION R-45-13. WHEREAS, The City Council approved Resolution No. R-45-13 on June 18, 2013; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. R-45-13, established an approved list of civic non-profit organizations entitled to be issued a license to operate a fireworks booth and to sell fireworks within the City of Colton; and WHEREAS, The civic group known as the Knights of Columbus, Council 4097 has decided not to operate a fireworks booth this year; and WHEREAS, The Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and Family Development has submitted a written request regarding the operation of the vacated allocated booth; and WHEREAS, An application was submitted by the Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and Family Development in accordance with Chapter 6.32 of the Colton Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, The application was reviewed for compliance and approved in accordance with Section 6.32.070 of the Colton Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, representatives from the remaining approved civic groups were polled and asked to give their approval for having the Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and Family Development operate their own fireworks booth beginning in 2014; and WHEREAS, representatives from the remaining approved civic groups have signed a letter stating their support and acknowledgement that the Seeds of Hope Outreach Resource and Family Development will operate their own fireworks booth beginning in 2014. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Resolution No. R-45-13 is repealed in its entirety.
