R-45-13 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON ALLOCATING FIREWORKS LICENSES FOR CIVIC <br />GROUPS AND REPEALING RESOLUTION R-38-09. <br />WHEREAS: The City Council approved Resolution No. R-38-09 on June 16, 2009; and <br />WHEREAS: Resolution No. R-38-09, established an approved list of civic non-profit <br />organizations entitled to be issued a license to operate a fireworks booth and to sell fireworks <br />within the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS: The civic group known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6476 has <br />decided not to operate a fireworks booth this year; and <br />WHEREAS: The Knights of Columbus, Council 4017 has submitted a written request <br />regarding the operation of the vacated allocated booth; and <br />WHEREAS: An application was submitted by the Knights of Columbus, Council 4017 in <br />accordance with Chapter 6.32 of the Colton Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS: The application was reviewed for compliance and approved in accordance <br />with Section 6.32.070 of the Colton Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS: representatives from the remaining approved civic groups were polled and <br />asked to give their approval for having the Knights of Columbus, Council 4017 operate their own <br />fireworks booth beginning in 2013; and <br />WHEREAS: representatives from the remaining approved civic groups have signed a <br />letter stating their support and acknowledgement that the Knights of Columbus, Council 4017 <br />will operate their own fireworks booth beginning in 2013. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Resolution No. R-38-09 is repealed in its entirety. <br />
