R-64-13 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND PROMULGATING AN EMERGENCY <br />OPERATIONS PLAN FOR THE CITY OF COLTON <br />WHEREAS: The City of Colton is susceptible to emergencies associated with natural <br />disasters and technological incidents—including both peacetime and wartime nuclear defense <br />operations; and <br />WHEREAS: The City of Colton is primarily responsible for emergency actions and will <br />commit all available resources to save lives, minimize injury to persons, and minimize damage to <br />property; and <br />WHEREAS: The City of Colton will utilize SEMS and NIMS in emergency response <br />operations; and <br />WHEREAS: The Director of Emergency Services will coordinate the City's disaster <br />response in conformance with its Emergency Services Ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS: The City of Colton will participate in the San Bernardino County <br />Operational Area; and <br />WHEREAS: The resources of the City of Colton will be made available to local <br />agencies and citizens to cope with disasters affecting this area; and <br />WHEREAS: The City will commit its resources to a reasonable degree before requesting <br />mutual aid assistance; and <br />WHEREAS: Mutual aid assistance will be requested when disaster relief requirements <br />exceed the City's ability to meet them. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1.
