R-76-13 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO <br />ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $250,000 FROM THE UNITED <br />STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND AMEND THE 2013/2014 FISCAL <br />YEAR BUDGET. <br />WHEREAS, the Budget for the City of Colton for the Fiscal Year commencing July 1, <br />2013 and ending June 30, 2014 was approved and adopted; and <br />WHEREAS, the approved budget is in accordance with all applicable ordinances of the <br />City of Colton and all applicable statutes of the State; and <br />WHEREAS, on September 27, 2013 the United States Department of Justice, <br />Community Oriented Policing Services Office awarded a hiring grant in the amount of <br />$250,000 to the City of Colton for the purpose of funding two entry-level, full-time sworn <br />police officers for three years as detailed in the grant application; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does resolve as follows: <br />Section 1. The United States Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing <br />Services Office Hiring Program Grant was awarded to the Colton Police Department in the <br />amount of $250,000. Increase expenditure account numbers 225-6070-7001-1010-0000-000 <br />and 225-6070-7001-1100-0000-000 in the amounts of $166,670 and $83,330 respectively <br />and increase Revenue account number 225-5890-004 by $250,000. <br />Section 2.
