R-59-12 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 FROM THE <br />UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE NATURAL <br />RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE, AND AMENDING THE <br />2012-2013 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET <br />WHEREAS, Significant damage occurred in various parts of the City of Colton and <br />other areas in and adjacent to the San Bernardino Mountains due to the flooding of December, <br />2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California declared a State of Emergency in <br />these areas as a result of the damage; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton requested emergency assistance through the Emergency <br />Watershed Protection Project ("EWP"); and <br />WHERAS, the United States Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources <br />Conservation Service assessed the damage in the City of Colton and has awarded a $20,000 EWP <br />grant to the City for hillside stabilization of a location in Rancho Mediterrania Mobile Home Park <br />and two locations off Prado Lane in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the Budget for the City of Colton for the Fiscal Year commencing July 1, <br />2012 and ending June 30, 2013, was approved and adopted by Resolution No. R-26-12 on June <br />19, 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, the approved budget is in accordance with all applicable ordinances of the <br />City of Colton and all applicable statutes of the State. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council approves and accepts the grant from the Emergency <br />Watershed Protection Program in the amount of $20,000. <br />SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute any agreements <br />necessary to accept the grant and arrange for any permissions to access private property as <br />required under the grant. <br />SECTION 3. The Fiscal Year 2012-2013 budget is amended as follows: Increase <br />revenue and appropriations in the General Fund as follows: Expenditure Account 100-6150- <br />6151-2350 in the amount of $20,000 for project expenses and Revenue Account 100-5993-225 in <br />the amount of $17,000, which is equal to the portion that will be reimbursed. Correspondingly, <br />increase revenue and appropriations in the Miscellaneous Grants Fund for the portion being <br />reimbursed to the City as follows: Expenditure Account 225-1000-1000-5993-0004-100 in the <br />amount of $17,000; Revenue Account 225-5880-000 in the amount of $17,000. <br />
