R-55-11 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE APPLICATION FOR <br />STATEWIDE PARK PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS THROUGH THE <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION. <br />WHEREAS, in November 7, 2006, Californian voters passed Proposition 84, the $5.4 <br />billion "Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal <br />Protection Bond Act of 2006" (Proposition 84); and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 9 of the Act, (Section 75065 (b)), called the Sustainable <br />Communities and Climate Change Reduction chapter, makes funding available for a <br />competitive Statewide Park Grant Program for the acquisition and development of new parks <br />and expansion of overused parks that provide park and recreational access to <br />undeserved communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the <br />responsibility by the Legislature of the State of California for the administration of the <br />Statewide Park Program, setting up necessary procedures governing the Application; and <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and <br />Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of application(s) before <br />submission of said application(s) to the State; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into a contract with the State of California to <br />complete the grant scope project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DO HEREBY RESOLVED THAT: <br />SECTION 1 The City of Colton, State of California, hereby approves the filing of an <br />application for the South La Cadena Multi -use Park and <br />SECTION 2 Certifies that the applicant has reviewed, understand, and agrees to the <br />General Provisions contained in the contract shown in the Grant Administration Guide; and <br />SECTION 3 Delegates the authority to the City Manager and his or his designee to <br />conduct all negotiations, sign and submit all documents, including, but not limited to <br />application, agreements, amendments, and payment requests, which may be necessary for the <br />completion of the grant scope; and <br />-1- <br />
