<br /> <br />ITEM NO. 1 <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 17, 2020 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: BILL SMITH, CITY MANAGER <br />PREPARED BY: DEB FARRAR, COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: WAIVE FULL READING, READ BY TITLE ONLY AND PASS FIRST <br />READING AN AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 12.24.010, 12.24.060, 12.24.070, 12.24.115, <br />AND 12.24.130 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING <br />TO OPERATION AND USE OF PUBLIC PARKS, ORDINANCE NO. <br />O-03-20. <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action: <br /> <br />Waive further reading, read by title only and Introduce an Ordinance of The City Council of the <br />City of Colton amending sections in Chapter 12.24 Relating to Policy and Usage of City Parks <br />(Ordinance O-03-20). <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City of Colton provides public parks which offer a variety of activities for residents, plus a <br />place for families to gather for picnics and other outdoor activities. Colton Municipal Code <br />Chapter 12.24 establishes terms of usage of parks and recreation space by the public. <br /> <br />ISSUES/ANALYSIS <br /> <br />Based on concerns and issues raised over recent history, five sections of the Colton Municipal <br />Code related to usage of Public Parks require updates to stay relevant and meet the needs of the <br />community in changing times.
