O-04-14 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ADDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 15.58 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE MODIFYING AND REDEFINING RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO WASTE DIVERSION. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 15.58 of the Colton Municipal Code establish requirements for <br />recycling by specified development activities and ensures the recycling of construction and <br />demolition debris; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 15.58 defines the responsibility of the City and contractors <br />following these types of development activities; and <br />WHEREAS, these types of activities include the demolition of any structure, the <br />construction of , and additions or tenant improvements with the exception of residential single family <br />homes up to 4 units and projects with a valuation less than $100,000. <br />WHEREAS, prior to issuance of a building permit, the applicant must submit for <br />review and approval a completed site and building recycling plan to the City’s Building Department; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, adopting the Waste Diversion Ordinance facilitates the City’s <br />compliance with the State’s recycling mandates. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: Section 15.58.10 of Chapter 15.58 of Title 15 of the Colton Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />“15.58.010 Purpose. <br /> Purpose: The purpose of this chapter is to establish requirements for recycling by specified <br />development activities to facilitate the city's compliance with state recycling mandates, including <br />removal of architectural barriers to recycling and ensuring recycling of construction and demolition <br />debris. <br /> SECTION 2: Section 15.58.020 of Chapter 15.58 of Title 15 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />“15.58.020 Applicability. <br /> This chapter shall apply to applicants for the following types of development activities: <br />A.
