ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />JUNE 11, 1987 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting of the City Council was held on the above given date at 5:30 <br />p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Benest, City Attorney Edwards, Asst. <br />City Manager Keane, and Deputy City Clerk Veralrud. Absent was Council- <br />woman Cisneros and City Clerk Ramos. <br />Public Works <br />City Manager Benest reviewed Public Works Budget, outlining the acti- <br />vities of the three divisions, Public Works Operations, Water and Water <br />Quality Control, and Engineering, and also reading the list of major <br />goals for 1987-88. <br />Mr. Benest continued with the Administrative & Engineering Budget, <br />advising this is a status quo budget. <br />Mr. Benest advised in the Street Maintenance Budget they have added <br />the position of Maintenance Worker I, to assist with the Patch Crew and <br />the overwhelming pot hole problem. <br />Mr. Benest stated in the Auto Equipment Budget they have added two <br />street sweepers and a double drum vitratory asphalt roller. Mr. Benest <br />said the streets are not being swept often enough, and there has been <br />added 25 miles of additional streets. <br />Mr. Benest then reviewed the Parks Maintenance Budget, advising that a <br />sprinkler truck and other miscellaneous equipment, including aluminum <br />tables for the City parks, were included in this budget. <br />Mr. Benest reported on the City Yards Budget, stating this is a status <br />quo budget. <br />Mr. Benest then reviewed the Buildings Maintenance Budget, advising <br />that the additional position of Maintenance Worker II was added, and <br />they have also considered two part-time custodians, to assist with the <br />Library and Police Department. <br />Mr. Benest reported on the Automotive Shop Budget, advising there were <br />some cuts made in this budget, in the area of temporary workers. Mr. <br />Benest also reviewed the Miscellaneous Equipment Account of this bud- <br />get, stating there is a big concern about preventative maintenance. <br />1 <br />
