i <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />DECEMBER 1, 1997 <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held at 6:35 p.m., on the above - <br />given date in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, <br />California, Mayor Gaytan presiding. Notice of Special Meeting was given on November 26, 1997, in <br />compliance with Government Code Section 54956. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />City Manager Wood led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Councilmembers present were Bennett, Cook, Chastain, Hutton, Sanders, and Mayor Gaytan. Also <br />present Interim City Manager Wood, Legal Counsel Bernie L. Williams, and City Clerk Barrera. <br />Councilmember Sandoval was absent. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />Legal Counsel Williams stated that City Council would meet in Closed Session, Pursuant to <br />Government Code §54957, regarding Public Employment: City Manager. <br />At 6:36 p.m. Mayor Gaytan declared the meeting adjourned to Closed Session and at 8:03 p.m. <br />meeting reconvened with all Members present as heretofore, except Councilmember Hutton. <br />Legal Counsel Williams announced that the City Council did meet in Closed Session regarding <br />Public Employment: City Manager. He reported Council discussed and selected Henry Garcia as <br />City Manager, contingent on negotiation of agreement with the vote being four yes and two <br />abstained. <br />N01101619i <br />At 8:05 p.m. Mayor Gaytan declared the Meeting adjourned. <br />CAROLINA P.
