SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 9, 2002 <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held at 5:02 p.m., on the above - <br />given date in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, <br />California, Temporary Presiding Officer, Councilmember Chastain presiding. Notice of Special <br />Meeting was given on May 8, 2002, in compliance with Government Code Section 54956. <br />CALL TO ORDER: <br />Due to the absence of both the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore, City Clerk Barrera called the meeting <br />to order. Motion/second by CM Zamora/Ramos to appoint Councilmember Chastain as Temporary <br />Presiding Officer to facilitate the meeting. No opposition to the motion. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Councilmember Zamora led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Councilmembers present were Zamora, Mitchell, Ramos, Hernandez and Presiding Officer, <br />Councilmember Chastain. Also present were City Manager Parrish and City Clerk Barrera. Mayor Pro <br />Tempore DeLaRosa and Mayor Bennett absent. <br />STAFF REPORT: <br />WATER WASTEWATER REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Approval of Award of Contract for the Construction of up to Four New Wells to Layne Christensen <br />Company in the Amount Not To Exceed $1,441,840. <br />Water & Wastewater Operations Director Fraser presented for Council consideration an overview of <br />the agenda report as to the award of contract for the construction of up to four new wells and <br />requested approval of staff's recommendation <br />Discussion and motion/second by CM Ramos/Hernandez, to approve staff's recommendation. Motion <br />carried with Councilmember DeLaRosa and Mayor Bennett absent. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />At 5:22 p.m. Presiding Officer, Councilmember Chastain declared the Meeting adjourned. <br />6,0 /;; <br />CAROLINA P.
