Chapter 6.18 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Chapter 6.18 REGULATION OF SHOPPING CARTS AND LAUNDRY CARTS Sections: 6.18.010 Findings and purpose. 6.18.020 Public nuisance -- Declaration. 6.18.030 Construction. 6.18.040 Definitions -- Generally. 6.18.050 Unauthorized removal or possession -- Prohibited. 6.18.060 Identification -- Required. 6.18.070 Removal from parking facilities -- Posting of notice. 6.18.080 Administration and enforcement. 6.18.090 Abandoned -- Abatement and storage. 6.18.100 Abandoned -- Immediate impoundment. 6.18.110 Notice of violation -- Unidentified cart. 6.18.120 Unclaimed carts -- Disposal. 6.18.130 Infraction 6.18.010 Findings and purpose. The unauthorized use, accumulation, and storage of abandoned shopping carts or laundry carts, or parts thereof, on public and private property is found to create a condition tending to reduce property values, to promote blight and deterioration, to constitute an unattractive nuisance creating a hazard to the health and safety of minors, to be aesthetically detrimental to the community, and to be injurious to the health, safety, and general welfare. The purpose of this chapter is to prevent the unauthorized use, accumulation, and storage of abandoned shopping carts and laundry carts, or parts thereof, on public and private property, by restricting the removal of carts from parking facilities, requiring identification on carts, and abating abandoned carts in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. 2811 RVPUB\ JEL332317
