R-16-88 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE <br />SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON FEBRUARY 9, <br />1988, DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS <br />AS PROVIDED BY LAW. <br />WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the <br />City of Colton, California, on Tuesday, February 9, 1988, as required by law; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as <br />provided by law; that a voting precinct was properly established; that election <br />officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and <br />conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made <br />and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the <br />Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in gen- <br />eral law cities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-9-88, adopted January 26, 1988, <br />the City Clerk canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the <br />results to this City Council, the results are received, attached and made a <br />part hereof as "Exhibit A." <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in the <br />City was 68. <br />SECTION 2. That the measure voted upon at the election is as follows: <br />"Shall the City of Colton be authorized by law to levy a <br />special tax upon all taxable real property within <br />Improvement District "A" in an amount not to exceed <br />$12,748.70 per share of James Sullivan Mutual Water <br />Company stock held by the owners of such parcels <br />on February 9, 1988, a portion of which shall be <br />collected annually, as determined by resolution of <br />the City Council of said City, for a period not <br />to exceed 35 years?" <br />
