R- 18-96' <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON AUTHORIZING <br />CONVEYANCE OF LAND FOR BILLBOARD <br />PURPOSES <br />WHEREAS, in consideration for the dismissal of certain claims asserted against the City <br />of Colton ("City") by Adams Advertising, Inc. ("Adams"), the City and Adams entered into a <br />Settlement and Release Agreement (the "Settlement Agreement") on July 1, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Settlement Agreement, certain variances and <br />conditional use permits that had previously been granted and approved for the construction of <br />billboard signs on property owned by the City which is more particularly described in the <br />attached Exhibits A through K (the "Property") were validated; and <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Settlement Agreement the City agreed to lease <br />the Property to Adams for the specific purpose of constructing and maintaining billboard signs <br />on the Property, and in fact executed such a lease on July 1, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, a condition precedent to the construction of billboard signs on the Property <br />is the issuance of certain permits by the California Department of Transportation ("Caltrans"); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has required as a condition of <br />issuance of necessary permits that the City take formal action to convey the Property to Adams. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCEL OF THE CITY OF COLTON HEREBY <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City of Colton by this Resolution, authorizes the conveyance to Adams Advertising, <br />
