RESOLUTION NO. R-113-21 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AUTHORIZING THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY SERVICES <br />DEPARTMENT AND THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT <br />OF SCHOOLS FOR THE QUALITY COUNTS CALIFORNIA WORK FORCE <br />PATHWAYS GRANT STIPENDS, FORMALLY KNOWN AS AB 212 <br />EDUCATIONAL STIPEND PROGRAM AND INCREASING REVENUES IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $12,509.10. <br />WHEREAS, the AB 212 Educational Stipend Program is an incentive program designed to <br />encourage teachers working in state -funded child development programs to pursue training and <br />education, and to remain in the field of early childhood education; and <br />WHEREAS, the program was originally funded through the Budget Act of 2000-01, <br />Assembly Bill 212, which provided funding for agencies that offer care and development <br />services; and <br />WHEREAS IN FY 19-20 AB 212 Changed names and is now Quality Counts California <br />(QCC) Work Force Pathways Grant (WFPG) Stipends. <br />WHEREAS, the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools provides stipends to <br />those who work for Agencies that are direct contractors with the California Department of <br />Education (CDE) through a single annual payment directly to the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby resolve as follows: <br />Section 1: The staff report accompanying this resolution is found to be true, adopted as findings. <br />and incorporated into this resolution. <br />Section 2: City Council approves pass -through educational stipends to qualified childcare <br />professionals is contingent upon satisfying the minimum qualifications of eligible teachers in <br />accordance with the program. <br />Section 3: Funds designated for the QCC-WRPG Stipends, funded through the San Bernardino <br />County Superintendent of Schools, will be receipted in account number 206-5889-000. It is <br />necessary to amend the FY2021-22 adopted budget to increase revenues in Child Care Fund <br />Account Number 206-5889-000 by $12,509.10. <br />H/ <br />11H <br />HH <br />
