R-91-% <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON ELIMINATING <br />POST-RETIREMENT BENEFITS PROVIDED <br />UNDER RESOLUTION NO. R-115-91 FOR ALL <br />FUTURE ELECTED OFFICIALS <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. R-115-91 entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION R-33- <br />87 AND MODIFYING OTHER RESOLUTIONS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT WHICH <br />ESTABLISH POST-RETIREMENT HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS FOR ELECTED <br />OFFICIALS AND DEPARTMENT DIRECTORS" was adopted December 3, 1991; and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution R-115-91 provided that certain elected officials, department <br />directors and their spouses or affected dependents be provided with health insurance and related <br />benefits after retirement; and <br />WHEREAS, the benefits set forth in Resolution R-115-91 are vested as to current <br />affected department directors, elected officials and former elected officials and department <br />directors no longer in City service and their respective spouses and affected dependents; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City that the benefits afforded by Resolution <br />No. R-115-91 not be granted to future elected officials not serving the City as of the date that <br />this resolution is adopted or to their spouses or affected dependents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON HEREBY <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />(1) The benefits set forth in Resolution No. R-115-91 shall not be afforded to any elected <br />official who is first elected or appointed to fill a vacancy for the position of Mayor, Member of <br />
