R-24-22 <br />APPROVE AMENDMENT TO THE EMERGENCY CONTRACT IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION §3.08.130(A) <br />FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO T2 AT THE CENTURY SUBSTATION. <br />WHEREAS, on August 4, 2021 Century Substation Transformer No. 2 was vandalized <br />by a stray bullet causing an oil leak, and the Transformer was de -energized; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 18, 2021 Transformer No. 1 tripped off due to low oil level; and <br />WHEREAS, the intermediate repair commenced on September 1, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, on September 7, 2021 the Colton City Council approved an emergency <br />service agreement to weld and repair transformer No. 2 at the Century Substation; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 19, 2021 the Colton City Council approved the ratification of <br />the previous service agreement to weld and repair transformer No. 2 at the Century Substation; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the approved intermediate repair work revealed that additional work and an <br />amended agreement is required for the original work to be completed to allow the Transformer <br />No. 2 to be re -energized and placed back into service; and <br />WHEREAS, the crew performing the work incurred additional time and materials costs <br />as a result of moisture above industry standard levels; and <br />WHEREAS, in compliance with the requirements in the City's Municipal Code, Section <br />23152.06020\32617662.1 <br />
