R_70-01 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF <br />COLTON MAKING CERTAIN REPRESENTATIONS AND <br />AGREEING TO CERTAIN STANDARDS FOR FORCE <br />ACCOUNT WORK TO BE PERFORMED BY THE CITY OF <br />COLTON AS PART OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />ADMINISTRATION'S PUBLIC WORKS IMPACT PROGRAM <br />GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton, California (the "City") is a municipal corporation <br />duly created and existing pursuant to the constitution and laws of the Sate of California; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to support and encourage economic development and <br />business development in the community, including the creation of new job opportunities; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton has submitted an application to the Economic <br />Development Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, for the construction of certain <br />public infrastructure improvements to serve to an industrial development (the "EDA Grant <br />Application"); and <br />WHEREAS, under the Economic Development Administration's Public Works <br />Impact Program the City of Colton is eligible to receive a maximum grant of $1,000,000 or <br />50% of the total project cost of $2,304,401 whichever is less; and <br />WHEREAS, the City' EDA grant application includes certain work to be done by the <br />City's own work force; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is prepared to administer the project under force <br />account procedures; and <br />WHEREAS, East Valley Land Company Project will create employment <br />opportunities for the unemployed and underemployed residents of the EDA -designated <br />PWIP area; and <br />1 <br />
