RESOLUTION NO. R-01-23 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON APPROVING THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AMENDMENT 01 OF 3 CONTRACT CSPP-2408 FOR THE PROVISION OF A STATE PRESCHOOL 4 PROGRAM IN THE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION DIVISION OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND AMENDING THE FY 2022-2023 5 BUDGET ACCORDINGLY 6 WHEREAS, City Council previously accepted the State of California Department of 7 Education(CDE) State Preschool Program Contract CSPP—2408 in the amount of$626,019 for fiscal year 2022-2023; and 8 9 WHEREAS, CDE offered Amendment 01 to Contract CSPP-2408 which increases the contract in the amount of $321,073 to enable the City of Colton to provide a Preschool to Program to local families. 11 12 WHERAS, Due to dramatic increases in the rate the State pays for 3 year olds, English Language Learners,Special Needs,and Severely Handicapped children,it is believed no extra 13 children will be served. 14 5 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby resolve as 16 follows: 17 Section 1 The staff report accompanying this resolution is found to be true, adopted as findings, and incorporated into this resolution. 18 19 Section 2: City approves the State of California Contract CSPP—2408 Amendment 01, for the provision of a Preschool Program in the Early Childhood Education Division of the 20 Community Services Department. 21 Section 3: Contract CSPP—2408,with Amendment 01 has a total budget of$947,092. 22 23 Section 4: It is necessary to amend the FY2022-23 budget to account for Amendment 01 and increase revenues and appropriations in the following accounts to match the contract: 24 Revenue: 25 206-5776-000 Increase by $321,079 26 27 Appropriations: 206-7200-7203-1040-0000-000 Salaries-Part Time, increase by$25,000 28 206-7200-7203-2301-0000-000 Operating Supplies, increase by$15,000
