RESOLUTION NO. R-94-23 <br /> 2 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ALLOWING THE RECEIPT OF <br /> 3 FUNDS TO THE EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION DIVISION OF THE <br /> 4 COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT VIA THE CALIFORNIA <br /> DEPARMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND THE CALIFORNIA <br /> 5 DEPARMENT OF EDUCATION, AB110 AND AB179, AND THUS <br /> ADDITIONAL ARPA FUNDS <br /> 6 <br /> 7 WHEREAS, the City of Colton, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Division of the <br /> 8 <br /> Community Services Department (CSD) holds one (1) California Department of Education <br /> (CDE) Contract, and one (1) California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Contract, thus <br /> 9 <br /> considered a CDE and CDSS Funded Agency. <br /> 10 <br /> WHEREAS CDSS, with Assembly Bill 110 and AB179, is authorized to award another <br /> 11 round of American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) to every CDSS Funded Program in the State of <br /> 12 California. <br /> 13 WHEREAS CDE, with Assembly Bill 110, is authorized to award another round of <br /> 14 American Recovery Plan Act(ARPA)to every CDE Funded Program in the State of California. <br /> 15 WHEREAS, the ECE Division has received two separate checks in the amounts of <br /> 16 $149,968 and$22,440 for a total received of$172,408. <br /> WHEREAS, CDE and CDSS Funded Agencies must use ARPA Stabilization funds for <br /> 17 <br /> one or more of the following purposes: <br /> 18 <br /> ■ Personnel costs, benefits,premium pay, or recruitment and retention <br /> 19 <br /> • Rent or mortgage payments, utilities, facilities maintenance and improvements, or <br /> 20 <br /> insurance <br /> 21 • Training and professional development related to health and safety practices <br /> 22 • Purchases of or updates to equipment and supplies to respond to COVID-19 <br /> 23 • Goods and services necessary to maintain or resume childcare services <br /> 24 • Mental health supports for children and employees. <br /> 25 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br /> 26 HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 27 Section 1: The staff report accompanying this resolution is found to be true, adopted <br /> 28 as findings, and incorporated into this resolution. <br />
