RESOLUTION NO. R-94-23 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ALLOWING THE RECEIPT OF 3 FUNDS TO THE EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION DIVISION OF THE 4 COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT VIA THE CALIFORNIA DEPARMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND THE CALIFORNIA 5 DEPARMENT OF EDUCATION, AB110 AND AB179, AND THUS ADDITIONAL ARPA FUNDS 6 7 WHEREAS, the City of Colton, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Division of the 8 Community Services Department (CSD) holds one (1) California Department of Education (CDE) Contract, and one (1) California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Contract, thus 9 considered a CDE and CDSS Funded Agency. 10 WHEREAS CDSS, with Assembly Bill 110 and AB179, is authorized to award another 11 round of American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) to every CDSS Funded Program in the State of 12 California. 13 WHEREAS CDE, with Assembly Bill 110, is authorized to award another round of 14 American Recovery Plan Act(ARPA)to every CDE Funded Program in the State of California. 15 WHEREAS, the ECE Division has received two separate checks in the amounts of 16 $149,968 and$22,440 for a total received of$172,408. WHEREAS, CDE and CDSS Funded Agencies must use ARPA Stabilization funds for 17 one or more of the following purposes: 18 ■ Personnel costs, benefits,premium pay, or recruitment and retention 19 • Rent or mortgage payments, utilities, facilities maintenance and improvements, or 20 insurance 21 • Training and professional development related to health and safety practices 22 • Purchases of or updates to equipment and supplies to respond to COVID-19 23 • Goods and services necessary to maintain or resume childcare services 24 • Mental health supports for children and employees. 25 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES 26 HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 27 Section 1: The staff report accompanying this resolution is found to be true, adopted 28 as findings, and incorporated into this resolution.
