Item #17 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 3, 2002 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: AMER JAKIER P.E., CITY ENGINEER <br />(&) <br />SUBJECT: FINAL ACCEPTANCE t NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR 2001-2002 <br />PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT ON ALSTON AVENUE <br />AND MILL STREET BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT <br />DATE: AUGUST 26, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The 2001/2002 Pavement Reconstruction Project consisted of curb to curb paving reconstruction of <br />Alston Avenue and installation of sidewalks on the East and West Side of Mill Street, from <br />Michigan Avenue to Ohio Avenue. <br />The Contract was approved by the City Council at the regularly scheduled Council Meeting of May <br />7, 2002, and awarded to Holland -Lowe Construction Inc. as the lowest responsive bidder in the <br />amount of $207,170.60. Change Order # 1 was issued (see -attached exhibit "A") for a net change to <br />the Contract amount of ($1,869.26). <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />The contractor completed the work, as specified in the contract, meeting and satisfying all <br />requirements. The records indicate that this project was completed within the allowable working <br />days. <br />ENVIltONMENTAL IlyIl'ACT: <br />The said public improvements are Exempt under Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). <br />FINANCIAL/FISCAL IMPACT: <br />An amount of $207,170.60 for this project was authorized by the City Council at the regularly <br />scheduled Council Meeting of May 7, 2002, with an account No # 212-6800-6841-3890-0000-00. <br />
