CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JANUARY 17,2006 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Jeannette Olko, Electric Utility General Manager <br />SUBJECT: Award of contract to CH2MHILL in an amount not -to -exceed $39,898 for <br />Design of Electric Service to Pellisler Ranch <br />DATE: January 9, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Colton Electric Utility Department is considering providing electric service to the Pellisier <br />Ranch area located in the southwestern part of the City. Pellisier Ranch occupies 227 acres of land east of <br />Riverside Avenue and north of Pellisier Road and is zoned light industrial. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />A Request for Proposals was issued to five pre -qualified engineering companies on November 21, 2005 <br />for Design of Electric System to Provide Service to Pellisier Ranch Project. The goal of the study is to <br />determine the viable alternatives for providing service to the anticipated future load. Two responses were <br />received and evaluated. The range of the cost for the study from the two respondents was from $38,898 to <br />$44,000. Staff determined that the proposal submitted by CH2MHlLL Inc. best fit the goals and <br />objectives of the electric utility.
