CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 7, 2006 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., PW DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE AWARD OF PAVING CONSTRUCTION <br />AGREEMENT TO ROQUET PAVING INC. FOR THE IMPOUND <br />YARD PHASE II PROJECT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $96,987.00. <br />DATE: JANUARY 26, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On November 1, 2005, the City Council approved the construction of the Police Impound <br />Yard on a City owned lot located along Fogg Street, south of "M" Street. This project will <br />allow the Police Department to recover costs associated with towed and stored vehicles which <br />are impounded. The Impound Yard Construction Project will be completed in two phases. <br />Phase I has been completed, which included: the design of the administrative building, <br />property cleanup, grading and installation of fencing. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The second phase of the Impound Yard Project will include the following: completion of <br />fencing, paving, landscaping and installation of a temporary administration building. Staff <br />has solicited proposals from four companies for the asphalt paving work required to move <br />forward with Phase II of the Impound Yard Project. The following are the cost proposals <br />received: <br />1. Roquet Paving, Inc. $96,987.00. <br />2. International Pavement Solutions, Inc. $124,596.00 <br />3.
