Zamora, Community Development Director <br />SUBJECT: Request for Recruitment and Ratification of Employee Appointment to the <br />Full -Time Position of Building Inspector II in the Community Development <br />Department <br />DATE: January 26, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Building Division currently utilizes two Building Inspectors. Due to the upcoming retirement <br />of one of the inspectors and the increase in inspection requests, the Building Division is in need <br />of inspectors to continue providing public service assistance in a timely manner. Staff is <br />requesting to establish an eligibility list for the purpose of filling the upcoming vacancy and <br />acquiring an additional inspector. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />Recruitment for said positions will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon Council <br />approval. The candidates chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as <br />specified in the job description. The salary range is $3,715 - $4,517 per month. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />This is a general fund position and is funded in the Building Division's salary account number 100- <br />6300-6302-1010 and benefits in account number 100-6300-6302-1100. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />Not applicable. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />Not applicable. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff requests that the City Council approve the request for the recruitment and ratification of one <br />employee appointment to the full-time position of Building Inspector II. <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />City Attorney: M2LtLn[ I (k, Finance Director. ).
