CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 21, 2006
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: David R. Zamora, Community Development Director
SUBJECT: Approve and Adopt a Resolution to Amend the budget for Fiscal Year 2005/2006 in
the amount of $35,000.
DATE: March 6, 2006
BACKGROUND:
The City of Colton Community Development Department has contracted with CCC Consultants, Inc. and
Willdan, Inc. to review structural plan checks for new construction as required by the Uniform Building Code.
ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION:
The Community Development Department budgeted $130,000 for professional consultant plan check and
building inspection services this fiscal year. However, due to the high volume of
new construction this fiscal year, an additional $35,000 is being requested to pay for continuing structural plan
checks during this fiscal year. Since retaining the in-house plan checkers, $215,703.00 in plan check fees
have been collected.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To amend the Fiscal Year Budget commencing on July
$35,000, the City Council must adopt the Resolution.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None.
1, 2005 and ending on June 30, 2006 in the amount of
CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Gift Disclosure Requirements
Willdan, Inc.
Contact: Ronald Espalin, PE., Sr. Vice President
CCC Consultants, Inc.
Contact: Tony C'De Baca, President
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve and adopt a Resolution to amend the budget for Fiscal Year
2005/2006 in the amount of $35,000.
Attachment: Resolution
Prepared by: Jessie Webster, Planning/Building Technician
ITEM #8
