O-16-24 <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION R-15-00 ON PERSONNEL RULES AND <br />REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF COLTON AND REPEALING IN ITS <br />ENTIRETY ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS PREVIOUSLY <br />REFERENCED IN RESOLUTION R-15-00 <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton, California (“City”) is a general law city and municipal <br />corporation, duly organized under the California Constitution and laws of the State of <br />California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules and Regulations for the City, found under <br />Resolution R-15-00, have not been amended since 2000 and included references to <br />several resolutions and ordinances enacted by the City since 1976; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by adoption of this Ordinance, the City Council for the City of Colton <br />desires to update and modernize its Personnel Rules and Regulations to reflect updates <br />in the law and legal requirements and to remove unnecessary references to the City’s <br />prior enacted resolutions and ordinances that are now incorporated into the Personnel <br />Rules and Regulations itself; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff recommend that the City repeal several resolutions and <br />ordinances enacted throughout the years by the City, as set forth herein, to make effective <br />a new set of stand-alone Personnel Rules and Regulations which do not require reference <br />to prior enacted resolutions and ordinances. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Section 1. Recitals. The above recitals are true and correct and are hereby <br />incorporated into this Ordinance. <br /> <br />2. Section 2. Personnel Rules and Regulations for the City of Colton Amended. <br />Resolution R-15-00 is hereby amended and restated as set forth in Exhibit 1b of <br />this Ordinance, which is incorporated by this reference as if set forth in full at this <br />point. <br /> <br />3. Section 3. Parentheticals. Parenthetical references of a historical nature are not <br />a substantive part of this Ordinance and may be deleted and modified as <br />necessary. <br />
