CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 18, 2007 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and Council Members <br />FROM: Jeannette Olko, Electric Utility General Manager <br />SUBJECT: Request recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to <br />the full time position of Maintenance Electrician for the Colton <br />Electric Utility <br />DATE: <br />January 26, 2006 <br />ITEM #5 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Electric Utility has budgeted for fiscal year 2007-2008 three (3) Maintenance Electrician <br />positions. The Maintenance Electrician troubleshoots and maintains electrical systems for all city <br />departments, and installs and repairs electrical and communication systems for the City. The <br />salary range for the Maintenance Electrician is from $4,267 to $5,187 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />There is currently one vacant Maintenance Electrician position due to the promotion of one <br />employee. In order to maintain reliable service to our customers, the Electric Utility is requesting to <br />fill this vacancy. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There are currently funds available in account number 520-8000-8003-1010-0580-000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Gift Disclosure Requirements <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Council approve the request for recruitment and ratification of <br />employee appointment to the full-time position of Maintenance Electrician. <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />City Attorney: M .
