CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 16, 2008 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: DILU DE ALWIS, FINANCE DIRECTOR �\ <br />SUBJECT: AWARD BID FOR A 2009 FORD CROWN VICTORIA LX TO <br />FAIRVIEW FORD IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,864.44 <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 4, 2008 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />ITEM #11 <br />The Police Department is requesting approval to replace an unmarked police unit (1997 Ford <br />Crown Victoria). The car has over 88,000 miles and is showing considerable wear from constant <br />use and age. This vehicle is no longer suitable for law enforcement purposes. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Diligent effort was made to solicit competitive proposals for the 2009 Ford Crown Victoria LX. On <br />August 12, 2008 the Request for Bids was distributed to 47 potential bidders via the City's online <br />bidding system: www.TheNetworkBidSystem.com. <br />An electronic Bid Opening was held at 2:00 p.m. on August 20, 2008. Sealed (encrypted) bids <br />were received from the following: <br />1. Fairview Ford <br />$25,864.44 <br />2. Redlands Ford, Inc. <br />$26,040.75 <br />3. South Bay Ford <br />$26,136.79 (reflects $150 prompt payment discount) <br />4. Villa Ford <br />$26,174.12 (reflects 10% prompt payment discount) <br />5. Burch Ford <br />$26,210.75 <br />6. Theodore Robins Ford, Inc. $26,224.35 <br />7. Raceway Ford <br />$26,297.60 <br />8. Rancho Ford <br />$26,779.24 <br />We also received two (2) no bid responses. A bid abstract is attached showing prices quoted by <br />each vendor and any exceptions noted.
