FRASER, DIRECTOR OF WATER & WASTEWATER OPERATIONS <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPT AND APPROVE REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH KIRIT <br />PATEL FOR WATER IMPROVEMENTS ON 400 BLOCK OF WEST "E" <br />STREET <br />DATE: AUGUST 25, 2008 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As a condition of approval, Mr. Kirit Patel will install an 8" water main on "E" street to replace an <br />older 2" water main located in the alley between "E" and "F" Streets to serve his housing project <br />on the 400 block of West "E" Street. The installation of this new 8" water main will also benefit <br />other parcels located on this street. <br />The Agreement has been drafted that identifies the parcels which benefit from the water line. <br />Frontage fees in the amount of $20 per frontage foot will be collected from future development of <br />the identified parcels and reimbursed to Kirit Patel. The City's obligation to reimburse Mr. Patel <br />will not exceed 10 years from the date of this Agreement. A copy of the Agreement executed by <br />Mr. Patel is attached. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Installation of this new water main will benefit the City by eliminating the older/smaller existing <br />water main that now serves this block.
