CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of May 4, 1993 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: April 28, 1993 <br />FROM: JERRY YOUNG <br />Interim City Manager <br />SUBJECT: 1993 Revisions to Local Guidelines for Implementing the California <br />Environmental Quality Act. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Each year the City Attorney updates our Local Guidelines for implementing the California Environmental <br />Quality Act ("CEQA") to reflect important changes made to CEQA by the courts and the Legislature. There <br />were minimal statutory changes and few case law decisions made in 1992 that are relevant to our CEQA <br />Guidelines. Rather than prepare completely new guidelines sets, we have been provided with revised pages <br />that can be inserted into our 1992 Guidelines. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The City Attorney has provided us with a memorandum which describes the major changes that were made to <br />the Guidelines this year and a resolution which should be used to adopt the updated guidelines. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Council approve the "Local Guidelines for Implementing the California <br />Environmental Quality Act, 1993 Revision," by adopting the attached Resolution. <br />Report prepared by Daryl Parrish, Acting Assistant to the City Manager <br />Attachments: (2) <br />c:\Wpwin fA o/93."e2 <br />qc�i V 1 <br />40 <br />
