CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 6,1996 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: MALIK DANTALA FREEMAN, INTERIM CITY MANAGER <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR f qi3' <br />SUBJECT: APPROVE REVISION OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LIFEGUARD IN THE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: JULY 22, 1996 <br />BACKGROUND: Attached is the revised job description for the classification of Lifeguard as <br />recommended by the department head; hourly rate is $5.50 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Organizational changes in the Neighborhood Services Department necessitated <br />the revision of the job description. <br />Change to the job description is as follows: Education requirement of high school graduate or equivalent, <br />supplemented by completion of specialized aquatic courses in application, instruction and theory, changed to <br />completion of specialized courses in application. instruction and theory from an approved agency, i.e. Young <br />Men's Christian Association (YMCA). Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) Red Cross etc.. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the revised job description for the position of <br />Lifeguard as recommended by the Neighborhood Services Director. <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Prepared by: Arleen F.
