VEGA, FINANCE DIRECTO_ <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF ANNEXATION NO. 59 TO THE CITY'S LANDSCAPE <br />MAINTENANCE DISTRICT <br />DATE: JULY 9, 1996 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Council has previously approved the formation of a Landscape Maintenance District <br />(LLMD No. 1) under the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. Properties <br />within certain Benefit Zones may be annexed into the District provided that a consent and <br />waiver to annexation form is signed and/or through a public hearing process . <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Attached are six "Consent and Waiver to Annexation" forms signed by the property owners <br />within Benefit Zones in the LLMD No. 1. The property owners proposed to be annexed to the <br />LLMD No. 1. Under the provisions of the LLMD Act of 1972, a single property owner can <br />request annexation into a Maintenance District, waiving a public hearing. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None. <br />FIANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Benefit Zones within the District are maintained with fees collected by the County Tax <br />Collector. This annexation will generate additional assessment revenue to the district based <br />on the 1997-98 fiscal year appropriation requirements. <br />Q.� <br />Anna A.
