W
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of July 16, 1996
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
l/
APPROVAL: Nabar Enrique Martinez, City Manager
FROM: Anna A. Vega, Finance DirectooLx---
SUBJECT: Annual Assessments for Demolition Expenses
DATE: July 10, 1996
BACKGROUND
In August 1992 and July 1993, the City Council heard and considered the Building Official's
Demolition Cost Reports for demolition of certain unsound structures within the City of
Colton. The structures were commonly known as: 840, 842 East "G" Street, 1475 N.
Redlands Avenue, 822 E. Fairway, 801 N. Rancho Avenue and 1023 Mt. Vernon Avenue.
DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS
The City Council previously determined at the above noted public hearings that the cost of
demolitions would be payable in five equal payments and that the assessment amounts
would be liens against the real property. Placement of liens/special assessments on the
County Tax Rolls, must be done on an annual basis by resolution. Staff has prepared a
resolution for the annual assessment for the above noted real property, to be collected with
the 1996-97 Fiscal year Tax Rolls.
ALTERNATIVES
None.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The assessments against the properties will enable the City to continue to recover the costs
it incurred for the demolitions.
J
Anna A. Vega, Fin nce irector
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
None.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of the attached resolution.
Attachment: 1-Reso
Prepared by: Brenda Ridens
Item No. 17
