59 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of July 2, 1996 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMMBERS <br />FROM: MALIK FREEMAN, City Clerk in r <br />SUBJECT: Calling and Giving Notice of a General Municipal <br />Election to be Held, Tuesday, November 5, 1996 <br />and Requesting the County of San Bernardino to <br />Render Specified Services <br />DATE: June 27, 1996 <br />Background: <br />Terms of office for certain elected City Officials are nearing <br />conclusion. <br />Discussion <br />Under applicable State law, the City of Colton must take steps to <br />call for the election of certain officers of the City and to order <br />a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, <br />1996, which will be consolidated with the Statewide General <br />Election, to elect the following City Officers: <br />1. City Clerk, at large, for full-term of four years; <br />2. City Treasurer, at large, for full-term of four years; <br />3. Three Councilmembers, by District, for full -terms of four <br />years, for Districts 3, 5 and 6. <br />nancial Impact: <br />Cost of the the General Municial Election is estimated at $10,000. <br />This amount has been funded in the City Clerk's Budget for fiscal <br />year 1996-97. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends City Council approval of the attached resolution <br />calling the election and requesting that the County render <br />specified services. <br />Att: (1) <br />ITEM 16 <br />
