MARTINEZ, CITY MANAGER �.R" <br />FROM: RANDY ANSTINE, NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES DIRECTO <br />SUBJECT: RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AGREEMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1996/97 WITH <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING CHILD <br />CARE AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES UNDER CONTRACT NO. GLTK-6076 <br />EXTENDED DAY CARE (LATCHKEY). <br />DATE: JUNE 10, 1996 <br />BACKGROUND, <br />The City Council of the City of Colton approved agreements with the State Department of Education and the <br />Childcare Division of the Neighborhood Services Department that provide for care child care and development <br />services to the community for fiscal year 1995/96. These contracts are on-going, but are renewed each fiscal <br />year. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />In Fiscal Year 1996/97 the Extended Day Care Latchkey Grant will offer $121,909 to the City of Colton and will <br />provide subsidized fees for seventy-five children. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />Decline the contract. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The revenues will be appropriated to account fund 06-0668-00, Community Child Care. <br />Randy Anstine, NeYghborhood Services Director <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval and adoption of the attached Resolution to enter into the agreement with the <br />Department of Education for Childcare Services. <br />Report prepared by Lori Fretz, Childcare Coordinator <br />Attachment: (1) Resolution <br />RA/kd <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item No. <br />
