ro'
CITY OF COLTON
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Thomas K. Clarke, Electric Utility Director/ Interim Water & Wastewater Director
SUBJECT: Water and Wastewater Master Plans
DATE: September 26, 1996
The Water and Wastewater Utilities are in the process of revising the'Water and Wastewater
Master Plans for the City of Colton. The Water Master Plan is being prepared by Krieger &
Stewart and is essentially an update of the 1991 Master Plan which has previously been
approved. Kennedy -Jenks is preparing the Wastewater Master Plan for the City. Staff has
been working with both of these consultants to supply them the proper information for their
evaluation and recommendation of system changes and improvements which need to be
undertaken by the Water and Wastewater Utilities.
Both of these consultants have indicated that a draft report for both Water and Wastewater
master plans should be available within the next three months. Once these are submitted,
staff will review and make appropriate changes before the final report will be issued. Once a
draft is available, it can be distributed to the Utilities Commission and the City Council for
preliminary consideration. Final adoption of the plans will not take place until finals are
received, reviewed, and presented to the two bodies. The consultants have not indicated that
additional information is necessary for them to complete their studies, however, staff works
closely with the consultants to determine any ongoing changes that need to be included as the
process moves along.
TKC:csk
cc: Interim City Manager Freeman
Assistant City Manager Parrish
ITEM 13
