PROJECT 104-21705 ---OLIVE, MT. VERNON, <br />AND GRANT <br />DATE: <br />BACKGROUND: <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 1996 <br />This is a Community Development Block Grant (C.D.B.G. Project 104-21705) funded <br />project, consisting of pavement rehabilitation of the streets inbound by Olive, <br />Mt. Vernon and Grant. On September 12, 1996 bids were formally opened by staff. <br />SUMMARY: <br />The results of the bids are as follows: <br />Vance Corporation $ 163,470.50 <br />Matich Corporation $ 169,076.45 <br />• All American Asphalt $ 179,225.90 <br />Laird Construction $ 198,031.78 <br />The apparent low bidder is Vance Corporation of Corona, California in the amount of <br />S 163,470.50. The bid package has been reviewed by staff and some discrepancies, <br />according to the bidder's instructions section of the project specifications were noted <br />and forwarded to the City Attorney for legal opinion. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />San Bernardino County Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD) <br />has approved appropriations in the amount of $188,900 as reimbursable funds for this <br />project. The Engineer's cost estimate is $147,013.60 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL: <br />None <br />I <br />
