Zamora, Community Development Director <br />SUBJECT: Set for Public Hearing, for the Regular City Council Meeting <br />of September 17, 1996, First Reading of an Amendment to <br />the General Plan, Zone Change, and Environmental <br />Assessment for Three Parcels of Property Located at 444 <br />Colton Avenue (Laymon's Candy). <br />DATE: <br />1996 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On August 27, 1996, the Planning Commission considered File Index Number DZG-32-96, a General <br />Plan Amendment and Zone Change for Assessor's Parcel Number 162-106-05, from Commercial <br />(Office/Business Park) to Industrial (M-1/1-ight Industrial), and Assessor's Parcel Numbers 162-102-11 & <br />12, from M-1/SDA (Sensitive Development Area) to M-1 (deletion of the SDA overlay zone). After <br />receiving public testimony, the Commission adopted the attached Resolution Number R-2-96, a <br />recommendation to the City Council to approve the General Plan Amendment and Zone Change for the <br />above referenced three parcels of property. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The City Council is required to hold a Public Hearing for a General Plan Amendment and Zone Change. <br />The above referenced subject requests the setting of a Public Hearing and first reading for that <br />purpose. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />If the City Council fails to hold a Public Hearing, the requested General Plan Amendment and Zone <br />Change cannot be implemented. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />No impact to the General Fund. The requested action sets this matter for a Public Hearing. <br />�L -1::-24. ro <br />ID R.
