CLARKE, INTERIM WATER & WASTEWATER DIRECTOR–VV— <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT TO ENGINEERED SYSTEMS AND CONSTRUCTION <br />FOR THE DOMECQ BACKUP GENERATOR IN THE AMOUNT OF $73,800 <br />DATE: AUGUST 26, 1996 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The FY95-96 Water Capital Improvement included funds for the Domecq Backup Generator. The funds <br />were carried forward to FY96-97, due to delays in advertising for bids. The project is a requirement of the <br />State of California, Department of Health Services. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Staff received four bids for the Domecq Backup Generator Project, upon the City Attorney's <br />recommendation, two bids were rejected for failure to submit the bid in the proper form as stated in the <br />Bid Specifications. The results are as follows: <br />1. Engineered Systems and Construction $73,800.00 <br />2. Allsup $78,900.00 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Fun a available in the 1996-97 budget, Water Operation Capital Improvements - Reservoirs Account <br />No. 2 100 8104-3 0. <br />Thomas K. Clarke, Interim Water & Wastewater Director <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the transfer of funds, and award the contract to Engineered <br />Systems and Construction for the Domecq Backup Generator in the bid amount of $73,800. <br />ITEM 8 <br />
