VEGA, FINANCE DIRECTOR= <br />SUBJECT: <br />MAYOR'S REQUEST ON STATUS OF CLOSING BOOKS FOR FISCAL YEAR <br />1995/96 <br />(9/3196 AGENDA ITEM #17) <br />DATE: <br />SEPTEMBER 5, 1996 <br />The routine monthly transactions for the month of June have been posted and a <br />year end trial balance has been prepared. However, Finance staff is making the <br />final adjustments necessary to accrue all revenue, expenditures and <br />encumbrances as required at June 30 and by the governmental accounting <br />board. Analysis schedules (audit lead schedules) used to aid in the auditing <br />procedures are also being prepared by finance staff. <br />rN The audit lead schedules and trial balances will be completed prior to the <br />commencement of the final audit. Moreland and Associates is due to commence <br />this final process on October 14, 1996. June 30, 1996 (year end books) are <br />available for review in the Finance Department. <br />ITEM NO. 10 <br />
