CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For the Council Meeting of December 2, 1997
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
APPROVAL: LEN WOOD, INTERIM CITY MANAGER
FROM: THOMAS K. CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR4eod;_/
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A CHANGE ORDER TO KRIEGER AND STEWART
IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 FOR WATER ENGINEERING SERVICES
I DATE: NOVEMBER 20, 1997
BACKGROUND:
On March 5, 1996 Council approved Krieger and Stewart to prepare the City's five year
Water Master Plan update. The Water Master Plan update has not been completed
due to additions and changes requested by the State Department of Health Services
and by staff.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The Utility Director requested a term purchase order in an amount not -to -exceed
$15,000 to Krieger and Stewart for general engineering services during FY97-98. The
services being provided by Krieger and Stewart are indirectly related to the
development of the Water Master Plan update, and to the recent perchlorate
groundwater contamination effecting the area's water purveyors and water production
problems. The cost for Krieger and Stewart's services to complete will exceed the
original request amount by $10,000.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds in the Water (521-8100-8101-2350) Professional Services account is
available to pay for the services of Krieger and Stewart.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council approve the change order in the amount of $10,000 to
increase to Krieger and Stewart's FY97-98 term purchase order for general engineering
services for Water.
Report Prepared By: Lorraine June
Item # 12
