r <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 17,1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, ACTING CITY MANAGER <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST COUNCIL APPROVE THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND SET <br />SALARY RANGE FOR THE POSITION OF POLICE INFORMATION <br />SYSTEMS COORDINATOR IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: JUNE 10, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: The United States Department of Justice, through the COPS More `96 grant program, <br />provided funding for the addition of a full-time Police Information Systems Coordinator. Attached is the job <br />description for the classification; salary range is $3,001 - $3,649 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: This position will enhance the operations and efficiency of the department by <br />supplementing and assisting crime analysis and communication activities. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: This is a grant funded position in the fiscal year 1996-97 budget funded as <br />follows: Account No. 100-6070-6087-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6070-6087-1100 (salary related <br />benefits), <br />�U <br />Be and O. t4nsford, Police Chief <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the attached job description and resolution setting the <br />salary range for the position of Police Information Systems Coordinator. <br />Attachment: Resolution <br />Prepared by: Arleen F.
