(SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIM <br />EXAMS) SERVICE TO AMERICAN FORENSIC NURSES IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$35,000. <br />DATE: APRIL 21,1997 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Police Department annually contracts for service to collect evidence from rape suspects, phlebotomy, <br />sexual assault victim and other related exams. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />The City mailed out a request for proposal to three prospective vendors. Two proposals were submitted <br />on April 2, 1997. After reviewing both proposals staff is recommending the American Forensic Nurses, <br />located in Redlands. This firm is the City `s current vendor. <br />The contract term will be for one year with an automatic renewal of an additional year. A price increase <br />will be negotiated at the end of the first year.
