VEGA, FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID FOR VEHICLES FOR THE UTILITY DEPARTMENTS TO CENTER <br />CHEVROLET IN THE AMOUNT OF $27,637.80 AND CREST CHEVROLET IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $24,350.93 <br />DATE: APRIL 13, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council approved two vehicles for the Utility Department in the FY 97-98 fiscal year budget. <br />One, one -ton pick-up for the Wastewater Division and one, one -ton pick-up for the Water. Division. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />On March 25, 1998, Purchasing solicited for sealed bids for these vehicles. Bid opening was held at 2:30 <br />P.m., April 9, 1998, in the Purchasing office. Six bids were received and evaluated. Attached is a Bid <br />Analysis listing the price and delivery quoted by each vendor. The recommended vendor's price is <br />underlined for each vehicle. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />Council appropriated the funds in the FY 97-98 budget for the Wastewater Division in account number <br />522-8200-8200-4910 and the Water Division in account number 52 <br />are within the budgeted amounts. 1-8100-8101-4910. The bids received <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends award of bid for these vehicles to Center Chevrolet in the amount of $27,637.80 and <br />Crest Chevrolet in the amount of $24,350.93. <br />Report prepared by: Mary J.
