HUTTON, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT AND RATIFICATION OF (2) <br />EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENTS IN THE FULL TIME POSITION OF <br />MAINTENANCE WORKER I IN THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: JULY 13, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There is one (1) Equipment Operator 11 position and one (1) Maintenance Worker 11 <br />position that are currently vacant, that will be under filled by a Maintenance Worker I. <br />Attached is the job description for the classification: the salary range is $1788 -$2,099 <br />per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Equipment Operator II position became vacant when physicians determined the <br />former worker was a qualified injured worker. The Maintenance Worker II position <br />became vacant when the former worker was transferred to the Graffiti crew. <br />Recruitment for said positions was conducted and an eligibility list was established. <br />The candidates chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as <br />specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for these approved general fund positions in <br />the fiscal year 1998-1999 budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6150-6160-1010 <br />(salary) an count o. 100-6150-6160-1100 (salary related benefits). <br />J .
